Universal studio Japan Hacks
I guess most of you are thinking of visiting Mario rides at Universal studio Japan(Osaka).
I would like to share what I have experienced.
1, We couldn’t get in the Mario area🥲
The reason is that we failed at the entry lottery at USJ.
There are several ways to get the entry.
Using travel agency, buying an express pass in advance, arriving USJ at the opening time.
We arrived around noon and did the lottery and could not get in.
My advice is that if you really wanna get in, get the express pass in advance or arriving USJ at the opening time.
2, It’s busy AF over the weekend🥵
Most rides are 2 hours wait over the weekends.
This applies to restaurants and any sweets. You gonna see many lines. My tip is suggesting visiting over weekdays to avoid the lines. Also I recommend eating outside of USJ. You can re-enter USJ by getting a re-entry stamp near the entrance. There are many restaurant outside of USJ and there is no line. We tried the hard rock cafe. It was delicious AF.
3, The gummy beans taste terrific 🤮
If you have seen Harry Potter, you know how the flavors are crazy.
We bought it at a souvenir shop in the Harry Potter area and tried it while waiting for the Harry Potter ride.
There are flavors like, soil, soap, puke, rotted egg. These made us feel sick and scared us.
The beans should alert us as “danger”.
But you should let someone try if you have someone you hate😚
4, Harry Potter restaurant is great with the view at night
There is a restaurant called “3 brooms” at the Harry Potter area.
The hot butter beer was great with the view. You don’t have to wait in the line outside to get the beer. You can just try the restaurant and order it. I recommend trying there at night as they have good dinner Menu.
Personally I like the outside seat to enjoy the castle view.
5, My personal favorite ride was the Flying Dinosaur
I waited for the ride around 80 mins and it was great. Almost my mask was taken off due to the wind speed. I held my mask while the ride. Definitely the wait time worths riding it if you like thrilling.
6, Just enjoy the American atmosphere at night
You can see many American style buildings and streets as if you are in the US. There are tons of way to enjoy USJ.

I stayed in a hostel called J-Hoppers Osaka Universal
If you are a solo traveler and looking for a cheap place to stay, it’s just 20USD for a night. As it’s Japanese hostel, it’s quiet and comfortable. If you care about your budget, this place is for you. By the way, a small souvenir costs 18USD. So the staying fee is almost the same as souvenirs😂
