As you may know, the Tokyo summer heat is insane. I just wanted to escape from the concrete jungle to the nature with a lake and a forest.

I was suggested to visit Sagamiko which is 1 hour train ride from the central of Tokyo. I did not even know that Sagamiko station was right next to Takao station.

There was a bus to an amusement park(Pleasure forest) from Sagamiko station which takes 8 mins. If you walk from the station to the amusement park, it will take 50 mins.

As we did not want to wait for the bus, we decided to not take the bus and walked towards to the Sagami lake, which took 10 mins.

Around the lake, there were some arcades with old style games which made me so excited.

There were some 100 yen games and 10 yen games. We mostly played 10 yen games and tried to get a prize by playing around 30 times.

If you take a look at the ground, you notice some 10 yen coins which represents how many times we played. After playing 30 times, we got the old gum below as a prize.

After we played many games below, we headed to Pleasure Forest(amusement park) to chill out. “Pleasure Forest” sounds like a bit weird place but it is a family friendly amusement park.

It took around 30–4o mins to reach “Pleasure Forest” from the arcade by walking and the path was really hot.

The amusement park is designed for families with small kids and most rides are designed for 6–12 years old. But we found the exciting ride below.

The swing ride gave us a great view of the mountains and we could see the ground when the ride reach the top. I highly recommend to try it. Not only the rides, there are camping sites and a hot spring around the amusement park. Personally I like going to hot springs in winter.

After having fun in the park, we decided to walk back to the Sagamiko town by walking as there were few buses scheduled. Once we reach the town, we went to a restaurant to have the smelt dish. It was really tasty and the whole trip was amazing. I highly recommend Sagamiko for a day trip.

As a closing announcement, I made an app called “TripRecord” to share recommended travel destinations. If you are interested in sharing Travel experiences, please download the app. I am thinking of adding URL section where users can add youtube or blog link to share detailed experiences.
